“Remembering Rizal” (Narrative)

The date January 18, 2013, Friday is unforgettable. It was a remarkable day especially for us students. First, we have no classes and second, we’re going to watch an exciting yet educational play atthe Assumption Theatre. At first, we unintentionally got bored while waiting outside the theatre for somehow it took long. It started at around 2:00pm. The movie we were about to watch is remembering Rizal date back when he was still young, entitled, “Batang Rizal”. It became an eye opener for ussince it has many twists and it’s a musical. The story goes like this…
It started in a school with a kiddo named Pepito who is a bit playful yet nice. He is studying in a Rizal school. He is with his classmates who often teases and sometimes bully him and together with their strict teacher. They have a fun and happy class who is supported by their own mayor. One time, Pepito incidentally broke the statue of Rizal which the mayor gave and donated to them. Unluckily, he must build it into a new one as his punishment; he doesn’t know what to do until he found a big and magical book which made the story more exciting. He wondered what’s in it until he open and read it. Everyone got amazed not just Pepito to what had happened. Every time he read the book entitled, “Noli Me Tangere”, the story goes realistic and true to life as in true! The scenes, the characters were really true. The young boy began to enter Rizal’s world and the scene is when he is still inPepito’s age too. It’s like a flashback on Jose Rizal’s life when he’s still young. As Pepito enter the ancient time, the people there thought he was Rizal because of their little similarity in names, “Pepito” and “Pepe” as Rizal. The story became better when the two young boys became good friends. The story goes on with Rizal as Pepito reads the book. There was a time that Pepito broughtPepe in his school and all the people there couldn’t believe that it is our national hero who is in front of them. When Rizal recited some of his own poems they began to believe…a bit. Then, the life of Batang Rizal continues.
For me, the touching part is when Pepe knew that he will die in the future to be a hero in our country, Philippines. At first, he was so much proud to himself that he couldn’t believe the reality when his friend Pepito explained that he is our national hero. But, he became sad when he knew that he’ll going to suffer first before he will became our great hero. As time passed, everything got better. Pepe helped Pepito to rebuild the statue he broke and that was the ending of the play. They all had teamwork. The bitterness among the students in Rizal School became already good.
We all know who Jose P. Rizal is. But when I watched the play Batang Rizal, I understand more how bright, good and wise Rizal is even if he still at his young age. And therefore, we enjoyed the playso much since the story creates a great appeal to the audience. Batang Rizal marks the story of Rizal’s life which gave us moral lessons to use in our everyday life especially for us young people.
They were good actors. :)

“Some Simple tips to Overcome Trials” (Process-Analysis)

In our everyday life we encounter difficulties. Nowadays some people lose hope and attempt wrong things. Yes… it is difficult that sometimes we can already feel the big bang in ourselves. We all have burdens, and it is only natural. I can give some simple tips to overcome trials and this is on my own and deep within my heart to share to you. Remember, trials help us to be stronger.
First, we must make a stand, never ever give up. Especially us, the youth, must learn to stand firm by ourselves. We must learn how to face problems and to make right decisions. And, we must be aware and know our limitations to avoid having trials.
Second, “always think positive!” there’s nothing wrong in that. Always remember that all things that happen in our life whether it is bad or good, everything has its own main reason. Remember that being positive signifies being strong and brave no matter what happen. If we think negatively, life comes more tragic. Trials sometimes compete us, but don’t forget that we must always be a winner if we just always think positive and we will always be positive.
Third, if it’s hard already for us, we must find “someone to lean on”. Some just come to help us and we should thank them much. They can give us advices how to overcome our trials. In this moment, we must clearly confess to him or to her what we feel. It is for us to feel the love, affection, comfort and warmth. Our family or parents can give us the most appreciated advice for us young people, and because for me, they are our best guidance in life.
Last but not the least, “God is with us!” He will never forsake us. We must pray and pray to Him to help us to have strength in facing some stupid trials. God has not made it in our lives; it is only us who are building it. He did not want it to happen for us too. But remember that God help those who help themselves. Do not forget our God because He helps us to overcome everything.
Faith and hope must always be there in our lives. Definitely, it is the values that we must have when facing trials, problems nor difficulties. To overcome and to fight for it is the best thing. After all, I could say that trials helps us to be stronger and helps us to strengthen our faith.

“An inspiring movie to men of all ages” (Descriptive)

I can still remember when I was younger, my aunt encouraged me to watch the movie, “August Rush”. It’s not about romance, horror, fairy tales, humorous story nor comedy, it’s all about music… yes music. A quest of a young boy called August Rush to find his parents who were separated from his years earlier and along the way, he discovers the musical genius hidden within him. The music mysteriously draws him. A story which your heart will be singing and your spirit will soar. Salute to the writer, the movie is a unique presentation of inspiration and hope.

Like August Rush, I am driven by my hopes and dreams that one day I may become successful in the field of music. Anyone else can draw inspiration from him. If you’re down and low, this is the perfect film to watch. A highly recommended movie to men of all ages. As for me, I can associate myself who always have faith to stand firm in my dream and even I have my everyday routine, though people don’t see it, it is within my heart and won’t just fade because I know someday just like August Rush, my life will be fine.

So many inspirations from the movie. For those who seek, you’ll find what you’re looking for, hidden talents that are yet to be discovered, even on how we can serve others especially us, young people. It also tells us to believe and never give up on our dreams. We must always use our talent in good ways for this is our biggest grace from Almighty.
There’s music in the wind and sky. Can you hear it? A simple movie yet very artistic and meaningful. August Rush is an inspiration. Music is everywhere, all we have to do is listen…

My Favorite Line: "I believe in music the way some people believe in fairytales"
 ~August Rush

"A Thousand Years" lyrics (Sample Post)

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I'm afraid
To fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt
Suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

I have died everyday

waiting for you
Darlin' don't be afraid
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I'll love you for a
Thousand more

Time stands still

beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything
Take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath,
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

I have died everyday

Waiting for you

Darlin' don't be afraid
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I'll love you for a
Thousand more

And all along I believed

I would find you
Time has brought
Your heart to me
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I'll love you for a
Thousand more

One step closer

One step closer

I have died everyday

Waiting for you
Darlin' don't be afraid,
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I'll love you for a
Thousand more

And all along I believed

I would find you
Time has brought
Your heart to me
I have loved you for a
Thousand years
I'll love you for a
Thousand more
